"For Eleri Griffiths there is an experience of landscape that resonates beyond what is immediately visible of audible, moments when it seems possible to sense the great age of a particular place, or perhaps even to intercept the aftershocks of events that occurred there. Her visually intricate fusions of landscape images with biological fragments - shells, claws, leaves, skeletons - can not be resolved into a single or simple whole. We as viewers seem closer to some but far from other parts of the image. We are drawn both to peculiarities of single fragments and conscious of their position in a composition. These images allude to a possible natural order that perhaps can be completely known, one that may integrate visions with time, that is maybe not entirely visible, communicable or durable."
